Mission Statement: The Ministry seeks to support, emphasize, inform, and to strengthen faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
History: The Ministry
was established in 1990. The then-chairman of the Deacon Board, Robert Vinson, recognized the uniqueness of this group and
the need for such an entity.
Services and Activities: Members of the Widows and Widowers Support Ministry meet monthly with an average of 10 members in attendance.
They come together to support and uplift each other, and to share information and experiences with newly widowed persons.
There are more than 150 widowed persons at First Baptist. Although all of them
do not attend the monthly meetings, they do enjoy the social functions and programs that are planned. Some of the activities
include: sightseeing and shopping outings, and holiday fellowships which often times include widowed persons from other churches.
Scripture

Grace be to you and peace from Good our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3. Blessed be God, even the Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation
that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God
