History: The
First Baptist Church of Highland Park Voluntary Nursery Ministry, formally known as the Volunteer Nursery was founded in the
late 1970's by Sister Helen Lee and Sister Anne Love. Sister Lee envisioned a need to allow parents to enjoy and participate
in the 11:15 a.m. Sunday worship service without distractions from their little ones.
When Sister Lee relocated
to W Springfield, MA, Deaconess Loretta Queen stepped in to keep the nursery open and has been the Coordinator since June
2004.
Services and Activities: The nursery is staffed by faithful dedicated adult and teen volunteers who provide quality child care with
a structured Christian program.
The nursery caters to children up to 5 years old. The nursery offers devotion,
scriptures, song, bible stories, art projects, free play and a light snack.
Locations: The First Baptist Church of Highland Park Voluntary Nursery is
located in the James J. McCord Education Building, Rooms 103 & 129.
Staff/Members: Loretta Queen, Coordinator
Tamara Henry,
