Mission Statement: To minister to the needs of the congregation by providing a pool of advisors and licensed professionals who
are both Christians and grounded in Biblical principles to meet specific needs of members and to provide training to enhance
helping skills of church leadership, support staff, and ministries.
History:
Several persons shared the vision for guiding ministry services prior to its formal appearance in 1996. The
ministry began as a resource for members to receive additional services from Christian professionals trained in the mental
health field. Presently, there are five individuals who offer services to members of our congregation.
Services and Activities: Some of the services available through this ministry are: - Short-term, skilled advising to adults, adolescents and children.
- Groups for grieving adults and groups for grieving children who have experienced
losses.
- Professional counseling (off-site)
- Training, including Christian Advising, Stress and Crises Management and Intervention,
and Mental Health Issues.
- Mother and Daughter book
discussion groups to enhance communication.
- Literature
for bereaved families, mental health issues regarding adults and children
- Cancer Support Group
