Christian Education Ministry

Rev. Yvonne C. Felton - Director of Christian Education Introduction of Ministry:
The Christian Education Ministry is one of the primary services to the body of Christ at First Baptist of Highland Park. The Christian Education Ministry is comprehensive, far reaching, and multifaceted inclusive of disciples of all ages. Characterized by its diversity, it offers opportunities for spiritual growth through the identification, use, and development of one's spiritual gifts as well as for Bible study.

Christian Education is done not only through seminars and classes and conferences at FBHP, but also at conferences and conventions around the country in connection with the Progressive National Baptist Convention and the American Baptist Association.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Christian Education Ministry of First Baptist of Highland Park is to glorify God by using the gifts, talents, and resources of the disciples to develop and enhance their spiritual growth and maturity in Christ.

Rev. Yvonne C. Felton - Director of Christian Education

History:
Christian Education has been an integral part of First Baptist of Highland Park since its inception. The ministry began with the Sunday School which we presently refer to as the Sunday Biblical Institute. Through the years many components of the ministry have been added with the Tutorial Ministry being the most recent. See histories of specific components as described under the heading of Christian Education.
