Introduction of Ministry:
People
are affected by 50% of what they see and 20% of what they hear. Therefore, this Ministry was established to serve as
another method to witness to others as God's Word of practical lessons for daily living is channeled. The intent
is to share, uplift and encourage through drama presentations.
Mission Statement:
To use
the talents, Spiritual gifts or the interests of children, teenagers and adults who are willing to devote sacrificial time
to prepare and perform in stage play productions for the edification and enjoyment to the viewer.
History:
Established May,
1995 for the purpose of presenting stage play productions. This Ministry has presented a number of skits in support
of programs and Services sponsored by other ministries at FBCHP and on an occasion had the distinct honor to present a dinner-theatre
play at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in support of the Trustees' Ministry of Faith Temple #2 where Bishop L. N. Forbes is Founder
and Pastor.
For several years this Ministry represented First Baptist in Baltimore, Md. in service along
with five to seven other churches where it was each church's responsibility to select a woman from the bible and present
that woman via a skit. Additionally, we presented a Mother's Day performance on another occasion. Both performances
were sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary of the Progressive Baptist Church of Maryland.
Services and Activities:
Development,
preparation and presentation of stage play presentations at FBCHP for yearly Easter and Christmas productions. Also
to fulfill play or skit request(s) from other church ministries of FBCHP or requests from sources outside of FBCHP.
Preparation for each play affords persons the opportunity to enhance personal skills and build confidence.

Our membership rosters have listed as many as 203
persons over the years; however, active participation generally is dependent on person's availability when preparations
begin for a production, and is limited to the number of interested persons for that productions.
