Community:
Highland Park Christian Academy is located in one of the fastest growing counties in Maryland
Prince George’s County encompasses an area of approximately 498 square miles and has a population near 800,000.H.P.C.A.

School:
Since 1983, H.P.C.A. has promoted quality education both spiritually
and academically Our mission is to develop ambassadors for Christ who are ready, respectful, and
responsible. Our vision is to become a Christian "Academy of Excellence." Our Core
Beliefs are: Christ is the center of all, children are the most important people in the Academy, high expectations
and accountability are key elements for student achievement, a positive school climate must exist, effective communication
is critical to student success, and parents and community are partners in teaching and learning. The Academy is on a beautiful
campus adjacent to First Baptist Church of Highland Park.
Academic Program:
H.P.C.A. is divided into three departments:
1. The Pre-School Department, which serves children in nursery (2 years old) and pre-kindergarten (3 and 4 year olds); 2.
The Elementary Department, which serves children from kindergarten to the fifth grade; and 3. The Middle School Department,
which serves children from sixth to the eighth grade. Our program includes Science and Technology instruction, including a
mobile lab with laptops and Computer instruction for Pre-School, Elementary and Middle School. Music is also available
along with Spanish for Pre-K 3 through Grade 8. H.P.C.A. has a 75% success rate of children performing above the 50th percentile
in standardize tests.
Curriculum: Pre-School – Abeka and ACSI (2 years old, Pre K-3 & 4); K-5 Harcourt Reading and Math Programs;
and 5th – 8th Holt Rinehart Literature Based Program. Health classes for middle school students
are also provided.
Faculty:
Dedicated and experienced Christian leaders effectively devote their skills and Knowledge to teach
and become positive role models for our students. They are active in Church activities and ministries. Professional development
days are set aside for attending conferences and in-house workshops to enhance teacher development. Each class has qualified
teacher professionals and paraprofessionals.
Student Life:
Spiritual development is a vital part of H.P.C.A experience.
We focus on daily Bible instruction and weekly chapel services from nursery (2 year olds) to fifth grade. Our children partake
in a variety of field trips, in-school assemblies, spirit week, on campus activities, and fundraising events that help in
nourishing lifetime friendships. Our children also wear school uniforms representing H.P.C.A. They can be purchased from Klassy

Athletic Program:
H.P.C.A. has an exciting athletic program. Although ports is
an important part of a child’s physical and cognitive development we encourage our children to be student-athletes maintaining
a C and above grade average in course work to participate. We also offer a variety of sporting activities for our children
to compete (varsity level) against other Christian schools in Prince George’s County. - Boys

Programs and Services:
Child Care – H.P.C.A. offers Before and After Care services
for all students currently enrolled. Extended care is provided between the hours of 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 3:50 to 6:30 p.m.
Meals – Nutritious meals that meet the Maryland State Nutrition and Food Program are prepared on our premises
and served daily by our kitchen staff. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided in accordance with the student’s attendance
time. Breakfast and afternoon snacks are included for extended care.
Our facilities include air-conditioning and
heated state-of-the-art classrooms that has a seating capacity of 25 students. The Academy also employs on staff maintenance
professionals.
Before and after school programs, tutorials, and many club activities are offered. - Nursery (2 year olds) through Pre-K 4: Arts & Crafts, Dance, Drama, Music and Puppetry.

Language, Homework Tutorial and Art.

The Academy will be offering the summer enrichment pre-school program,
P.R.A.I.S.E. (Powerful Religious Activities Inspire Successful Enrichment) which starts in June and ends in August.
Twenty-four hour on campus security is provided for the Academy.
